Spangler Candy Company is a family-owned private company making candy since 1906. Our products include lollipops, candy canes, and marshmallow candies.
Our familiar brand names are Dum Dums®, Saf-T-Pops®, Spangler® Candy Canes, and Spangler® Circus Peanuts.

Dum Dums were originated by Akron Candy Co., Bellevue, Ohio, in 1924. I.C. Bahr, the early sales manager of the company, named the ball-shaped candy on a stick and figured dum-dums was a word any child could say.
